If your traveling through the Garden State of New Jersey it would be worth your while to stop by the Six Flags Great Adventure Safari Park. Located in Jackson, NJ this wild animal park is the largest in North America and provides an amazingly close glimpse to some of the worlds most majestic animals. As you ride through the park you have an opportunity to see Scimitar Oryx from Africa which are extinct in the wild. Giraffes and Kangaroos are also in plenty. When you stop by Camp Adventure in the middle of your tour you can get up close with amazing animals like North American Barn Owl, Cockatoos, South American Ring Tailed Coati, and a Giant Anteater.

Scimitar Oryx also known as the Sahara oryx, is a species of Oryx now extinct in the wild. It formerly inhabited all of North Africa. The scimitar oryx was once widespread in northern Africa. Its decline began as a result of climate change, and later it was hunted extensively for its horns.

North American Barn Owl is the most widely distributed species of owl, and one of the most widespread of all birds. It is also referred to as the common barn owl, to distinguish it from other species. The barn owl is found almost everywhere in the world except polar and desert regions, Asia north of the Himalayas, most of Indonesia and some Pacific Islands.

The Giant Anteater, also known as the ant bear, is a large insectivorous mammal native to Central and South America. The anteater can be found in multiple habitats, including grassland and rainforest. It forages in open areas and rests in more forested habitats. It feeds primarily on ants and termites, using its fore claws to dig them up and its long, sticky tongue to collect them.
